Mukteswar fete from Jan. 14

BHUBANESWAR: The Department of Tourism would host its three-day annual Mukteswar Odissi dance festival on the Mukteswar-Parsurameswar temple premises in the City commencing on January 14.

The festival would feature solo, duet and group presentations every evening that would precede with presentation of Shiv vandana (devotional chorus) by troupes led by eminent musicians.

While Guru Ramahari Das would present the chorus during the inaugural evening, Rajashri Praharaj, a young dancer from city-based Srjan dance institution and disciple of Guru Ratikant Mohapatra would perform as a soloist. It would be followed by duet dance by Kolkata-based Saswati Garai and Ayona Bhaduri; both disciples of Sharmila Biswas and the concluding group presentation would be by Guru Gajendra Panda’s Tridhara dance school of Bhubaneswar.
