Congress leaders to end membership drive by Jan. 17

Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY: District Congress Committee (DCC) president and Patancheru MLA T. Nandeeswar Goud informed the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president D. Srinivas that the target of membership was not completed in Medak district due to intensified agitation for the separate State. He also reportedly urged the PCC president to instruct the Ministers as well as party MLAs to act firmly in taking up membership drive.

Mr. Nandeeswar Goud participated on the DCC presidents’ meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday.

Out of the 10 constituencies only three constituencies were able to complete membership up to 75 per cent out of the 10,000 membership.

The PCC president informed the DCC presidents to complete the drive by January 17. He also made it clear to the DCC presidents that it would be difficult to nominate the party leaders in local body elections if they fail to complete the target. The same would be communicated to the party leaders at constituency-level.
