Pradip Ghosh wins title

KOLKATA: Pradip Ghosh of Howrah drew his final round match to ensure the crown in the 45th State chess championship here at the Khudiram Indoor Stadium on Monday.

With Ghosh’s overnight contenders also failing to get a win, the former won by a half point difference.

Joydeb Saha (North 24 Praganas), Debashish Mukherjee (Kolkata) and Joydip Dutta (North 24 Praganas) came next in the order netting eight points each.
