Programme on ‘seasonal calender’
PUDUKOTTAI: A day-long training programme on ‘seasonal calendar’ was organised by Village Resource Centre of the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation here on Monday. A number of farmers participated in the programme.
The objective of the programme was to evolve a season-based strategy for agriculture, horticulture, veterinary and poultry sectors so as to boost productivity and ensure adequate returns to the farming community.
The Regional Joint Director of Animal Husbandry, Richard Jagadeesan, inaugurated the workshop. J. Srinath, Senior Scientist of the Foundation; R. Rajkumar, Project Co-ordinator of the Village Resource Centre, MSSRF; and L. Prabakaran, District president of Tamil Nadu Science Forum were among those who spoke.
