Left parties protest against bus fare hike

ANGRY PROTEST: Police taking into custody CPI (M) and CPI activists when they stage a demonstration at Maddilapalem RTC bus stand against the bus fare hike on Monday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Leaders and activists of the Left parties picketed the RTC Depot at Maddilapalem junction on Monday in protest against the hike in bus fare. The CPI and CPI(M) leaders and workers demanded immediate rollback of the hike CPI(M) district secretary Ch. Narasinga Rao condemned the arrest of the party workers who participated in the agitation.

CPI(M) city secretary K.Lokanadham, party leaders B. Ganga Rao, RKSV Kumar, R. Bhagyalakshmi, B. Venkata Rao and B.A. Naidu and CPI-M district secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy and party leaders Raghavendra Rao, Pydiraju and Markandeyulu were among those who attended the protest programme.
