Cases booked against truck owners

Officials of the Transport Department recently issued 56 check reports to trucks found carrying excess load of granite, coal or sands.

Also, 16 cases were booked against truck owners for plying their vehicle without covering the load with tarpaulin. Further, 51 cases were booked for carrying excess load in trucks and fine amount of around Rs.3.27 lakh collected.

A truck from another State was seized for carrying excess load and non-payment of tax, said a press release.
