KADAPA: A 14-year-old ninth class girl student of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, a residential institution at Chakrayapet, gave birth to a baby girl at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences hospital here on Monday night, but subsequently suffered brain haemorrhage and has been shifted to the intensive care unit. Gynaecologists S.R. Rajeswaramma and Nagajyothi said the girl’s condition was critical. The baby girl weighing two kg was shifted to the paediatric ward and put on oxygen, the doctors said. The student was the youngest of six children of Obulaiah and Lakshmi Devi, both daily wage earners. They quoted her daughter as saying that she complained that a teacher who took special classes in the nights had raped her. The girl belonging to Kothavaddepalle in Lakkireddipalle mandal has been studying in the residential school for the last three years. When she frequently complained of severe stomach ache, the KGBV teachers sent her home after summoning her parents some 10 days ago. AISF functionaries led by district president Madduleti staged a demonstration before the Rajiv Vidya Mission on the Zilla Parishad premises demanding stern action against the person responsible for crime. They submitted a memorandum to RVM Project Director K. Ramesh Kumar.
