Action dropped against MP, Minister

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Even as there are reports that Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has referred to the ethics committee, the resignation of Congress Lok Sabha member from Vijayawada L. Rajagopal on the Telangana issue, the Congress high command has decided “not to proceed further” on the show cause notice issued to Mr. Rajagopal and Information Technology Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy.

“We got the reply from both of them and we are satisfied. Hence we have decided not to proceed further (on the disciplinary proceedings)” said Congress media department chairman Janardhan Dwivedi.

Talking to The Hindu here on Monday, Mr. Dwivedi, who is also in charge of party organisational matters, said the Congress leadership was yet to receive a reply from the Congress MP from Nizamabad, Madhu Goud Yaskhi, who too was issued notice seeking clarification for his statement “violating party rules.”
