Illegal hoardings, posters removed

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has removed over 11,000 illegal posters, banners and hoardings during the past three days as part of its special drive to keep the Capital “free of eyesores”.

According to MCD Standing Committee chairman Ram Kishan Singhal, “A total of 11,769 illegal posters, banners, hoardings and boards have been removed so far and the drive will be continued in the future as well.” Offenders could be fined up to Rs.50,000 or face one year in jail or both, he added.
