Vivekananda varsity remembers Braille

Coimbatore: The Faculty of Disability Management and Special Education, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, organised Braille literacy competitions for visually impaired children here recently in connection with the 201st birth anniversary of Louis Braille.

According to a varsity press release, the competitions were held in Braille reading and writing for students of primary, middle, high and higher secondary school level. Fifteen students from various schools, including Vidyalaya institutions, participated. Swami Sahanananda, who inaugurated the function, urged the parents to encourage their children to learn Braille.
