‘The car is spacious and the prices are within the reach of the middleclass’ VIJAYAWADA: The Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the new spacious family car ‘Eeco’ into the market. At a function organised by Varun Motors to introduce the car to the local market here on Saturday, Deputy Transport Commissioner T. Raghunath felt that the Maruti Suzuki had designed the new car keeping in view its customers from the middleclass segment. “The car is more spacious and the prices are within the reach of the middleclass,” he said, lauding the company for making the car with Bharat-IV standards. “These standards are being implemented in Hyderabad from April 1. The same standards will be made applicable in other cities too in a phased manner. Vehicle registrations can be done only when the vehicles are on a par with these standards. Even before the new standards come into force, the company has made the car with the prescribed standards,” Mr. Raghunath said. Director of Varun Motors P.V. Satyanarayana said that the car with 1200-cc engine would give a mileage of 15 km per litre of petrol. “The car is available in six colours – metallic glistening grey, metallic silky silver, metallic midnight black, metallic blue blaze, bright red and superior white – and available in three models – Eeco standard five-seater, Eeco air-conditioned five-seater and Eeco standard seven-seater,” he explained. These models carry in the city an ex-showroom price of Rs. 2,74,442, Rs. 3,05,042 and Rs. 2,90,758, respectively.
