Kozhikode: The media coverage of the Golden Jubilee edition of the State school art festival, which concluded here on Friday, was the widest and the most extensive in the history of the event, Director of Public Instruction (DPI) and festival general co-ordinator A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish has said. Announcing the awards instituted by the Education Department for the best coverage of the event here on Saturday, he said it was also the largest in terms of the number of mediapersons who arrived for reporting. “Nearly 1,000 mediapersons reported the event,” he said. Malayala Manorama and Mathrubhumi shared the award for the best comprehensive coverage of the Kalolsavam in the print section. Asianet bagged the award for the best coverage in the visual media category. The award in the audio section went to Real F.M. Following are the awards in other categories. Best reporters (visual media): V.S. Krishnaraj (Amrita TV) and Sunil Baby (India Vision). Best cameraman: N.R. Dileep (Manorama News). Best cartoonist: Ragesh ‘Paachu cartoon series’ (Chandrika daily). Best photographer: Harris Kuttippuram (Madhyamam daily). Best reporter (print): K.K. Jayesh (Janayugam daily).
