Traditional start: Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Trivedi lights thelamp to inaugurate the delegates’ session of the State conference of the Ayurveda Medical Association of India in Thrissur on Saturday. Thrissur: Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dinesh Trivedi has said the Union government will remove the disparity in pay scales for allopathy and ayurveda doctors with the National Rural Health Mission. He was addressing the State conference of the Ayurveda Medical Association of India on Saturday. Ayurveda treatment“The Union government proposes to recommend provision of ayurveda treatment facilities in Railways and the Armed Forces,” he said. He observed that it was unfortunate that India looked to the West for knowledge in certain areas. “The British knew how to truly subjugate India. They knew that India’s traditional knowledge and wisdom was its backbone. Hence, they tried to replace India’s ancient education system and culture with western values.” The Union Minister spoke about the profundity and efficacy of the ancient Indian medical system. “To ignore this system is to ignore the country’s heritage.” P.C. Chacko, MP, and Udaya Kumar of the Ayurveda Medical Association of India also spoke.
