Lorry driver murdered

G. KONDURU (KRISHNA DIST.): A lorry driver was murdered in the farm fields at Kotturu village near here late on Friday, but the issue came to light only on Saturday morning.

The victim was identified as Nakkanaboyina Kondala Rao alias Konda, 40, a resident of Kotturu. The incident apparently took place when Konda was returning home from work on Friday. As he was walking on Kotturu road with a bag, a few persons reportedly rounded him and stabbed him with knives.

Neelapala Someswara Rao, a resident of Kotturu who was walking a few yards behind Konda, witnessed the attack and raised an alarm. The miscreants then tried to chase Someswara Rao. He, however, managed to escape. On Saturday, Someswara Rao went to Konda’s house and told his family members about what he had seen on Friday night. Konda’s elder brother Narayana rushed to the spot and saw Konda’s body in a pool of blood in a farm field on the road side.
