Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: A man and his friend have been arrested on charges of concealing a murder. According to the police, M. Asma (35) of Bangalore, who had come here along with her husband A. Mohammed Ali (38), was found dead in the house of Ranjith (27), where they were staying, at Jafferkhanpet. When Ali had gone to Pudukottai to visit his relatives, Ranjith and his friend Anu alias Annammal (37) informed the Kumaran Nagar police that Asma was found dead on Thursday morning.

A post-mortem at the Government Royapettah Hospital indicated that the victim had been strangulated.

On interrogation, the duo confessed that a friend of Asma, who had come after Mohamed Ali left for Pudukottai on Wednesday night, had murdered her following a heated argument. A special team has been formed to apprehend the suspect.
