Hope for Haitian children

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Shanti Bhavan, a children’s home and school for the underprivileged, has decided to open its doors to the children of Haiti orphaned due to the tragic earthquake that shook the Caribbean country, on January 12. Shanti Bhavan is offering free admission to 12 Haitian children between the ages of four and six, as soon as the organisation obtains the necessary permission from relatives and governments.

“We will commit to bringing up the children without government financial support all through school and college until they are in a position to seek employment,” says Abraham G. George, Founder, Shanti Bhavan. The Shanti Bhavan calls out to all those who can help us accomplish this difficult task of facilitating the transfer of 12 destitute children from Haiti to Shanti Bhavan in India.
