Plea for withdrawal of case against Mareppa
HYDERABAD: Bahujan Employees’ Federation (BEF) has requested the government to withdraw the case registered against former Minister and Dalit leader M. Mareppa in Kurnool on January 6. Mr. Mareppa was implicated in the case on the charge of provoking people, when he demanded speedy disposal of CBI probe into the death of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, it said. No violent incident had taken place after his statement but violence had broken out when other leaders of the Congress spoke on TV5 report the next day. But, they were spared. -Staff Reporter
