NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP president O. P. Kohli has announced that an “anti-price rise week” would be observed by all the “mandals” in Delhi from January 18 to January 25 as the party has decided to launch a movement at the national level against spiralling prices. During the protest week, he said foot marches, torch processions, signature campaigns, corner meetings and propaganda from loudspeakers mounted on tempos would be carried out to make the people aware about the “wrong economic policies” of the Congress-led Governments at the Centre and in Delhi. The BJP leader said party MLAs and councillors have been directed to actively participate in these programmes. Stating that the common man was suffering due to the sky-rocketing prices, Prof. Kohli said the Central Government was portraying itself as being helpless and blaming the States. Wondering how the common man would survive in these times, the BJP leader said be it flour, pulses, milk, sugar, vegetables or any other article of daily use the rates have increased manifold in the recent past.
