HYDERABAD: The Centre has finally approved a proposal made by the State government to convert the Environmental Protection Training & Research Institute (EPTRI) at Gachibowli here, into a national institution as a joint venture.

The EPTRI has now been renamed National EPTRI with arrangements for heavy Central funding for its upgradation and expansion to meet the environmental needs of the entire country.
