Taiwanese investments welcomed

Top-level business delegation from Taiwan meets Chief Minister

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K.Rosaiah has invited industrialists and investors from Taiwan to invest in the State and assured all support to them.

Speaking to the high level delegation from Taiwan which called on him on Monday, Mr. Rosaiah said the State had several sectors where investments could be made. While the fast expanding Hyderabad was leading in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly in bulk drug manufacturing and other formulations besides being among the top cities in Information Technology and ITES, Biotech and semi-conductor sector, there were other cities like Vishakhapatnam with an international airport, port, shipping unit and steel plant etc.

A petroleum and petro-chemical investment corridor was also coming up along the long coastal areas of State, he told the delegation from Taipei led by Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce Chairman Theodore Huang.

Mr. Huang heads the US $ three billion Taiwanese conglomerate TECO in Taiwan. TECO was presently considering the possibility of expanding to India.

The top level delegation had business interests in IT, telecommunications, semiconductor, Photo Voltaic solar module manufacturing, pharma and biotechnology, consumer electronic manufacturing and others.

During the last two days, the delegation visited Fab City, Genome Valley and Hitech City.
