Fruit vendor stabbed to death

TAMBARAM: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death near Tambaram bus stand on Monday evening.
According to Tambaram police, Thyagu of West Tambaram was running a mobile fruit shop near the bus stand. Around 9 p.m. on Monday, a couple of unidentified assailants attacked him with a knife on his chest and abdomen and fled from the spot.
The victim sustained bleeding injuries and died instantly. His body was removed to Tambaram Taluk Government Hospital in Chromepet for post-mortem. The incident in full public view at the crowded bus stand sent shock waves among the commuters.
