Girl killed in accident

KRISHNAGIRI: A girl student was fatally knocked down by a speeding jeep owned by the Revenue Department near Krishagiri on Wednesday.

K. Devi Priya, a Std. III student of the Panchayat Union Primary School, was trying to cross the road when the accident occurred. She died on the spot. People blocked traffic following the incident. Revenue Divisional Officer A. Anbarasu and Inspector V. Kathirvelu held talks with the people. Compensation of Rs. 1.12 lakh will be given to the parents of the girl.
