TASMAC outlets remain closed for second day

KRISHNAGIRI: Muniyappan, a salesman of a TASMAC shop at Pethalapalli was murdered inside the shop on Monday night by some unidentified persons.
The attackers also took away Rs. 40,000 from the shop.
Protesting against the murder, the employees closed the shops in the district for the second day on Wednesday and thronged the office of the District Manager in Krishnagiri.
They laid siege to the DM’s office demanding protection to their lives and daily collection by the authorities from the shops.
T. Senguttuvan, Krishnagiri MLA and A. Anbarasu, Revenue Divisional Officer, held talks with the employees.
It was decided to extend Rs. 1.5 lakh compensation to the family of the deceased employee and to solve the issue of protection to employees within a month’s time.
After the assurance by the officials, the employees disbursed.
