Kalasa-Banduri: ready for talks with Goa, says Yeddyurappa
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has said that he is ready to hold talks with the Goa government to arrive at a settlement on the implementation of the Kalasa-Banduri nala project, which envisages diverting 7.56 tmcft of Mahadayi waters to the Malaprabha reservoir to provide drinking water to Hubli-Dharwad and other parts of north Karnataka.
He was addressing presspersons here on Wednesday. The project has been in limbo since it was mooted in 2001 due to objections from Goa. Mr. Yeddyurappa appealed to Goa to allow the State to go ahead with the project.
