Mumbai FC downs Lajong
Mumbai: Shillong Lajong’s poor run at the Cooperage continued as it suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of host Mumbai Football Club in a Round 11 I-League match here on Wednesday.
The hosts went ahead with the help of an own goal in the 22nd minute, before the visitor restored parity through Niwan-O Gatphoh in the 50th minute. However skipper Abhishek Yadav (74th) and Subhas Chakravarthy (85th) put the match beyond Lajong’s control.
With this win, Mumbai FC has accumulated 17 points from 11 matches and is joint fifth in the points table along with Mohun Bagan. —PTI
