New animation course

Indira Gandhi National Open University and the Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) are offering a new three-year B.A. degree course in 3D animation and visual effects for students who have passed their Class XII examination. The curriculum has been framed by a joint coordination committee of IGNOU and MAAC.

In addition to detailed technical and creative skills, the curriculum is aimed at imparting soft skills, business and production management training to students. The last date for submission of applications is January 25, followed by an entrance test.

Application forms can be obtained from MAAC centres from Monday to Saturday.

The Delhi Oriya Students’ Association (DOSA) organised an international students’ cultural meet at Delhi University earlier this week as part of an international student cultural exchange programme. Students from Orissa, Manipur and Indonesia took part in the event organised with the objective of showcasing the cultural vibrancy of India and Indonesia.

Established in 1971, DOSA has Oriya students from various educational institutions such as Delhi University, JNU, Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University, IIT and AIIMS as its members.

Kalindi College’s B.A. Programme Society held a seminar on career guidance and personality development earlier this week. Panellists included faculty from Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia and Tagore Foundation.

Information was given to students about various courses offered at universities and job prospects. Students were briefed about scholarships for going abroad. They were also given information about special degree programmes in sports, physio-therapy, nursing and social work.

Lovely Professional University has signed a memorandum of understanding with the US-based North Dakota State University with the aim of making available quality education from the US to Indian students.

According to the draft MoU, the two universities work together in the field of twinning programmes in management and engineering at the under-graduate and graduate levels. They will also conduct faculty and student exchange programmes and joint resear ch programmes.

J K Business School has invited applications for admission to its three-year full-time under-graduate courses in Bachelor in Business Administration, Bachelor of Computer Applications and Bachelor in Business Economics.

Students who qualify will get opportunities for internships in between the first and second years and second and third years. This will help students gain an insight into the corporate world and enhance their practical knowledge. Classes for all the courses will begin in July. Admission will be on the basis of merit in Class XII exams and a personal interview. The last date for submission of application forms is March 31.

Pearl Academy of Fashion has announced the launch of its M.A. programmes in design (fashion and textiles), fashion marketing, fashion merchandising and fashion retail. All courses are affiliated to Nottingham Trent University.

Students will get an opportunity to work on projects from industry and a research intensive course curriculum will provide experience of working in a global environment. The courses are designed to develop students with strategic capabilities to manage complexity, challenge, risk and competition in the contextual environment of fashion businesses. Throughout the programme, a learning environment and interactions with experts will encourage students to address contemporary issues, theories and paradigms and develop a global viewpoint.
