Thiruvananthapuram: The Department of IT is gearing up for the third phase development of the Technopark campus here. Applications have been invited from private and public companies for leasing 22 acres of land at Kulathur earmarked for the development of the campus. Technopark phase 3 will be developed over 92 acres and will house one of India’s largest IT buildings with a total built-up area of one million square feet. Support facilities like 110 kV substation and water supply system are already operational and work on land development, internal roads, water distribution, sewage treatment plant and construction of embankments along the canal are progressing. “The IT/ ITES industry in Kerala is expanding very fast. It is imperative that we create the necessary infrastructure within the State for steady and focussed growth”, said Ajay Kumar, Principal Secretary, IT.
