Plan to launch Russian language courses

CHENNAI: Faced with an increasing demand for engineers and technicians in various sectors with basic knowledge of Russian language, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, along with Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Indo-Russian Cultural and Friendship Society, has proposed to launch Russian language courses through video-conferencing.
Talking to reporters, Stanislave Simakov, Director, Russian Centre of Science and Culture, and P. Thangappan, Secretary, Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said the medium of teaching would be both Tamil and English. There would be a three-month certificate course and a six-month diploma course.
