Thippanna’s resignation, an ‘action in haste’: Javare Gowda

Staff Correspondent

Hassan: The former Rajya Sabha member and district JD (S) president H.K. Javare Gowda has described the tendering of the resignation by the former JD (S) State president and MLC N. Thippanna (who still had 3-year term as MLC) as an action in haste.

Mr. Gowda said here on Thursday that Mr. Thippanna being the seniormost leader had taken a hasty decision and the reasons he gave for tendering his resignation were not in good taste.

Mr. Thippanna had told presspersons in Bangalore that though he was a senior leader and party president once, he was not even informed when party changed district presidents and that JD (S) was the party of one family and there was no democracy in it.

On the resignation of Mr. B R Gurudev, Mr. Gowda said Mr. Gurudev should have resigned two years ago when he joined the BJP.

His term would have ended in three months’ time, Mr. Gowda said.
