VISAKHAPATNAM: Enjoy a mouth-watering array of Bengali dishes at the Bangla Food Fest at Hotel Green Park’s Tulips restaurant from today. The culinary tradition of Bengal is based on the local ingredient ‘panch phoron’, which means five spices. This adds flavour to the food and gives a unique taste. The hotel’s master chef will dish some of the most favourite and sumptuous varieties of Bengali delicacies during the food fest. The menu includes ‘chingri malai curry’ – creamy prawns curry, ‘murghir jhol’ – chicken curry, ‘macher jhol’ – fresh water fish curry, ‘bhapa mach’ – steamed fish, ‘kosha mangsho’ – mutton curry, ‘cholar dal’, ‘aloo posto’ – potato cooked in poppy seed paste, ‘bengun pora’ – flamed and mashed brinjal curry, ‘kaach kola kofta’ – raw banana pancakes and many more dishes. The dessert section is a delightful ray of ‘rasgolla’, ‘sandesh’, ‘rajbhog’ and ‘mishti doi’. The food fest is open for dinner from 7.30 p.m. onwards and will go on till January 31.
