Those who scored 70 p.c. in under graduation invited ’6,000 freshers who were given offer letters contacted’ HYDERABAD: More than two years after emerging triumphant from the recruitment drive of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. in their respective colleges, the “not-so-fresh” college graduates from across the country will once again be sitting for an online examination here on Friday. Only that it would be their prospective employer Mahindra Satyam they would be vying to impress this time round. The engineering and MCA graduates who received offer letters from the erstwhile Satyam Computer Services Ltd. only to never receive their joining dates will be taking the examination at St. Peter’s Engineering College in Medchal here, it was learnt. Recruits from all over the country will have to take the test at the venue. After repeated parleys with the new management over the last year, youngsters who scored 70 per cent and above in their under graduation were invited to express their availability for the “short listing process” by the company in an email communication sent earlier this year. However, some graduates were disappointed with the management’s decision to take on board “some” candidates. “Only 30 per cent of those recruited possess more than 70 per cent marks. There is no word about the rest of us,” pointed out one recruit. When approached, a senior Mahindra Satyam representative maintained that they have reached out to all 6,000 freshers the company gave offer letters to in 2008-2009. “We will recruit suitable candidates. But some of them might have got jobs elsewhere,” he said.
