Bandh-hit turn to old city
It has become a rule rather than an exception. Bandhs have become the order of the day in the twin cities. As the ‘T’ tale takes twists and turns, the agony of common man rises. The first sign of the bandh next day can be seen at the petrol bunks. The long queues of vehicles – often extending on to the road – sums up the feeling of insecurity that grips the masses. However, the old city begs to differ. Bandh or no
bandh, life goes on as usual here. It was no different these last two days when the rest of city shut down. Charminar, the hub of old city, bustled with the teeming shoppers and tourists. Many who ran short of petrol drove down to these parts to get the JAC writ runs here at all. Or the people here don’t want Telangana? The simple answer is unless the Majlis cooperates, no bandh can be enforced here. And the party has so far not come out with its stand. And thereby hangs a tale.
