Kobad Gandhy remand extended

VISAKHAPATNAM: Judicial First Class Magistrate of Chintapalli J. Nagasesaiah on Thursday extended the remand of CPI (Maoist) ideologue Kobad Gandhy till February 3. Kobad Gandhy is one of the accused in the May 2008 Gunukurayi encounter in which a constable and four Maoists were killed.

The police told the court that the Maoist leader could not be brought here due to security reasons from Charlapalli Central Jail, near Hyderabad, to where he is remanded after being produced in Chintapalli court.
