Unconstitutional agenda: Sharad

Neena Vyas

NEW DELHI: Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav has charged the Maharashtra government with following the “shocking and unconstitutional agenda” set by the MNS to counter the increasing popularity of the MNS ‘Maratha manoos’ card.

Mr. Yadav told reporters here that the order requiring taxi licence applicants to have a 15-year domicile status and knowledge of Marathi was essentially against the spirit of the Constitution and would hurt national unity and integration. The State government, however, had said that it had simply decided to implement a rule for taxi licences that dated back to 1960.
