CWC to meet ahead of Budget Session
Anita Joshua
NEW DELHI: Ahead of the Budget session of Parliament, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) is expected to meet to take stock of the prevailing situation in the country on various fronts including prices.
The meeting — expected to be convened sometime over the next fortnight — would also give the party’s central leadership an opportunity to provide inputs on the Budget.
That the CWC would meet shortly was confirmed on Friday by Congress general secretary in charge of organisational affairs, Janardan Dwivedi.
However, he did not disclose the agenda or the exact date of the meeting.
“It could take place in the next 10 to 12 days,” Mr. Dwivedi said.
Organisational elections
Besides escalating prices and the Budget, the CWC is also expected to discuss the organisational elections that are supposed to be wrapped up by the end of July.
