Scholarship for students

KRISHNAGIRI: As many as 3,701 students will be given Rs. 55.22-lakh education scholarship through the Social Security Scheme for Farmers in the district, Collector V.K. Shanmugam said here recently.
Disbursing scholarship to the students for 2008-09 at the Collectorate, Mr. Shanmugam said the government was extending a helping hand to the wards of the farmers through the Social Security Scheme.
Under the scheme, Plus Two students would get Rs. 1,500 (boys) and Rs. 1,750 (girls) and Class X students would get Rs. 1,250 (boys) and Rs. 1,500 (girls) every year.
Students can avail themselves of the scholarship by submitting applications to the respective headmasters.
