An author moves Delhi High Court saying the concept has been lifted from his book

NEW DELHI: An author has moved the Delhi High Court seeking a permanent injunction against screening of the new Salman Khan-starrer from Bollywood released this weekend, Veer, submitting that the producer, director and actor have lifted the concept from his book “Trilogy of Wisdom”.

Delhi-based author Pavan Choudhary through his counsel Pandey Rajiv Rajhans and Chandra Shekhar Yadav submitted that the plaintiff is the author, first owner, true originator and lawful proprietor of the concept that “India should not be a sone ki chidiya but baaz” as mentioned in the book “Safalta ki Triveni: Chanakya ka Rajnitik Gyan”, a Hindi translated version of “Trilogy of Wisdom”.

The plaintiff has given wide publicity to the concept on television, radio and in newspapers, magazines and periodicals, says the suit. The plaintiff being the first owner and author of the said copyright is entitled to all rights and privileges conferred upon him, it adds.

The suit further says that the defendants have based an important part of the movie on this concept and have almost identical dialogue.

The suit is likely to come up for hearing this Monday.
