Fast-track clearance for buildings through Green Channel
HYDERABAD: Towards encouraging the concept of green buildings in and around the city, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to offer automatic fast-track clearance through Green Channel for buildings which adopt the ‘Indian Green Building Council Norms for Green Buildings’.
According to a statement issued here, the applicants are required to enclose a certificate from the Indian Green Building Council stating that proposed building will be a ‘Green Building’. For these applications meant for residential, commercial or industrial, no additional processing fee will be levied by the HMDA for fast track clearance under Green Channel, thereby offering 50 per cent discount on fees, towards approval.
The facility will be available from February 1 and details on pre-certification through Indian Green Building Council can be obtained on phone numbers 23112971 to 73 or email ‘ s.raghupathy@cii.in’, the statement added.
