Titan HMG to increase production

COIMBATORE: Titan HMG Paints India Limited, a joint venture of Titan Paints and Chemicals here and HMG Paints Limited, the United Kingdom, will increase its production capacity three-fold in three years, according to John Fenton, Director of Titan HMG Paints India Limited and Ravi Sam, Managing Director the company.

They told presspersons here recently that the production capacity of the plant was over 100 kilo litres a month now.

The company would invest Rs. 12 crore in the next two years to increase the production. The company that commenced production in June 2008 registered Rs. 7 crore turnover in the first year of operation.

It targeted doubling the turnover annually and achieving Rs. 100 crore in five years.

HMG manufactured a range of paints and coatings in the U.K. and supplied paints for any purpose according to customer needs.

It had 49 per cent share in the joint venture company. Titan was an associate company of the LMW group here and was in the powder coating business, focusing on industrial sectors.

Titan HMG would focus on business to business and value addition initially. It was identifying dealers and agents to expand market in the country. India was a huge market and the company was focusing on tapping the potential here.

“India is a good stepping stone to supply to other countries such as Singapore, China and Thailand,” Mr. Fenton added.
