Priceless words: Poet Kureepuzha Sreekumar releases a collection of poems by Remya Antony (extreme left) by handing over a copy to CPI(M) leader T.N. Seema in the capital on Sunday. Thiruvananthapuram: When Remya Antony gets admitted to the Regional Cancer Centre here later this week for surgical treatment of cancer, she will have the ardent prayers of her friends. Fate dealt a double blow when Remya, a polio victim, was diagnosed with oral cancer. The young woman with a flair for penning poetry, however, has a precious asset that she can fall back upon. Over the years, she has gained an assortment of friends, mostly through exploring cyber world using blogs and community networks. On Sunday, Remya’s friends turned up for a function to release a collection of her poems titled ‘Shalabhaayanam.’ Among them were students of the College of Fine Arts here who wielded the brush at a workshop last week to convert the 24 poems in the collection into paintings. An exhibition of the paintings was organised at the Press Club hall on Sunday.
