VIJAYAWADA: Young people in distress and depression need no longer worry about their problems relating to non-performance in studies or unemployment. They can find support by calling up a toll-free number to be opened by the Krishna District Youth Services department to rescue and guide the youth through their trials and tribulations. The service with the number 1800 425 6665 is being provided from the helpline set up at the youth services office at Veterinary colony here. District Youth Services Officer Velaga Joshi says that the effort is to reach out to the youngsters who are slipping into despair and hopelessness because of their poor performance in studies or their inability to find a job immediately. Such people are free to call this number and consult the experts to get their apprehensions and doubts clarified. New challengesIn the wake of rapid changes brought about by globalisation and privatisation, there has been a lot of stress on the young minds and this has resulted in many challenges to their skills and abilities. This kind of stress starts right from the days of early education when they have to perform against high expectations in the examinations. Competitive examinations and entrance tests give a tough time to the young ones without any doubt, Mr. Joshi explains. With regard to employment opportunities too, the young people are facing unusual and unforeseen challenges as of now. “At a time like this, students need additional support and counselling. Our service will extend all help in this regard. Young people can freely consult the helpline,” says Mr. Joshi. A few wise tips from the expert counsellors may do wonders to reinforce hope into the hearts of students and job aspirants, who are working so hard to realise their dreams. The whole idea is to ensure that the young people seek counselling and advice at their nearest helpline at no cost.
