Coimbatore: Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday asked officials to finish infrastructure-related works before May.
Highways Minister M.P. Saminathan told Mr. Stalin that 96 km length of roads in 17 stretches were being taken up for repairs at an outlay of Rs. 60 crores. The work to widen Tiruchi Road from bypass road junction to Stock Exchange was being expedited. For parking of vehicles of those attending the conference, space was being identified to use them as as temporary bus stands along the district border. The works on Mettuppalayam Road would be discussed at a meeting of Ministers of Highways from various States at New Delhi scheduled for February 5.
