Kakinada: District In-charge Minister Botcha Satyanarayana will review the situation arising from the water scarcity faced by Rabi crops in eastern and central Godavari deltas, on January 27. The status of agricultural operations in areas which were declared eligible to draw the water from Godavari River and other sources, will be the looked into. Necessary steps aimed at preventing major losses to the crops will be taken, according to Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi. Addressing a meeting on water supply during the Rabi season, here on Sunday, Mr. Dwivedi said the Local Gazette Order has to be strictly implemented so that the farmers would get their due shares and there were no disputes among them. Joint Collector K Sasidhar, Additional Joint Collector B Rama Rao, Irrigation Superintending Engineer B Pratap Babu, executive engineer Venkateswara Rao and others were present in the deliberations.
