PATHANAMTHITTA: The Pampa Parirakshana Samiti (PPS) will organise a one-day environmentalists’ meet at the Environmental Research Centre at Poovathoor, near Aranmula, on the banks of the Pampa on Tuesday. PPS general secretary N.K. Sukumaran Nair, in a statement here on Monday, said the meeting would discuss environmental issues affecting rivers in the State. Environment, conservation and river protection experts will take part, Mr. Nair said. The former director of the Centre for Earth Science Studies (CESS), Thiruvananthapuram, K.M. Nair, will inaugurate the meet at 10 a.m. Rejuvenation strategies The meet will discuss the g proposed Mineral Policy, river rejuvenation strategies and the problems facing the construction sector.
