Ivanios and St. Xavier’s win

KOCHI: Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, defeated host Sacred Heart 77-62 and won the men’s basketball title in the 64th Fr. Bartholomew inter-collegiate tournaments which concluded at Thevara on Sunday night.

St. Xavier’s (Aluva) crushed Alphonsa (Pala) 43-27 and bagged the women’s basketball title.

St. Peter’s men from Kolencherry and Pala’s Alphonsa women lifted the volleyball titles while Thrissur’s Sree Kerala Varma men walked away with the ball badminton trophy.

The results (finals):

Basketball: Men: Mar Ivanios, Thiruvananthapuram bt Sacred Heart, Thevara 77-62. Women: St. Xavier’s, Aluva bt Alphonsa, Pala 43-27.

Volleyball: Men: St. Peter’s, Kolencherry bt Sacred Heart, Thevara 27-25, 25-20. 25-23. Women: Alphonsa, Pala bt St. Peter’s, Kolencherry 25-4, 25-9, 25-15.

Ball badminton: Men: Sree Kerala Varma, Thrissur bt NSS, Changanassery 25-29, 29-20, 29-21. — Principal Correspondent
