DRAMA IN MOVEMENT: The performance is inspired by Pina Bausch’s breathtaking work and life

BANGALORE: A specially commissioned work, “For Pina… Homage to Pina Bausch”, co- produced by the Goethe-Institut will be staged by the Attakalari Centre for Movement Arts and the Ranga Shankara on January 30.

For Pina ..., a site-specific promenade movement performance presented along with a film installation and live music, is inspired by Pina’s breathtaking work and life.

Philippine ‘Pina’ Bausch was a German modern dance choreographer and a leading influence in the development of the Tanztheater style of dance.

She has shaped modern dance-theatre like few others; her productions were often copied but never equalled.

She toured India thrice between 1979 and 2008. She passed away in June, 2009.

Tickets, priced at Rs. 200, are available at Ranga Shankara, www.indianstage.com and the Goethe-Institut.
