Anand’s progress on expected lines

NEW DELHI: World champion Viswanathan Anand’s inability to post a single victory in eight undefeated outings of Corus chess tournament has been in keeping with the safely-first methods expected from the Indian preparing for the world-title defence in April.

When the action resumes after Monday’s rest day, Anand faces Sergey Tiviakov.
