Russia’s aluminium jewel

Stock listing: A bird’s-eye view of the Rusal Sayanogorsk aluminum smelter. Debt-ridden aluminium giant UC Rusal, which is set to become the first Russian firm to list in Hong Kong and Paris on January 27, is the prize jewel of Russian tycoon Oleg Deripaska’s business empire. The world’s largest aluminium producer, Rusal is responsible for 12 per cent of global output, employing 75,000 people in 19 countries.
