AI cuts fare on Kozhikode Chennai sector

KOZHIKODE: Air India has announced a concessional fare on the Kozhikode-Chennai sector on its service which is being restored from Friday. The fare on this route has been brought down to Rs. 999 from Rs.3,000. However, the passenger will also have to pay an airport charge of Rs. 250. The concessional fare will be available till March 31. This was mentioned by Aravind Javed, Managing Director of the airline, in a letter to M.K. Raghavan, MP.

Mr. Raghavan had recently gone on fast in front of the Air India office here to protest against cancellation of several Air India services and demanding steps to improve Air India operations from the Calicut International Airport at Karipur. Air India will operate flights to Chennai on four days, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight will leave Chennai at 2 p.m. and reach Karipur airport at 3.10 p.m. The return flight will depart at 3.50 p.m. and land at Chennai at 5 p.m.
