Compensation sought

BANGALORE: The Students’ Federation of India has sought compensation for victims of the building collapse in Bellary and demanded action against the building owners, engineers and contractors of multi-storeyed apartments who are “responsible” for the mishap. In a release, SFI State president H.R. Naveenkumar and State secretary N. Anantha Nayak said that the present Backward Classes and Minorities Hostel building was old and students had been were living in it for the past seven years although it was unfit for living. — Staff Reporter
